Scarlett, just hours old. She weighed 4 pounds, 1 ounce.
Ava, also new out of Mommy's belly, weighed just 3 pounds, 7 ounces but like her older sister (by one minute!) she breathed on her own without any type of support from the moment she arrived in the world!
Mommy, exhausted and sore but thrilled
Daddy touching Ava for the first time (of course, both girls will need to become Aston Villa supporters!)
Proud Daddy in front of the isolets.
We hope and pray they won't be in the NICU for very long!
Ava, snoozing on her tummy (which is ok to do in the hospital where she is closely monitored, but not at home!)
Scarlett was quick to grab Daddy's finger.
So was Miss Ava!
Scarlett (almost 1 day old) and Mommy
Daddy and Ava on Day 1. Such a tiny girl!
Mommy was in paradise holding both girls on Day 2!!!
Close-up of Ava. My adorable little girl in her purple hat :)
Close-up of Scarlett cuddling into Mommy. Adorable, isn't she?
The luckiest Mommy in the world!
They have the same pose... is it a double high-five??!!
Bath time for Ava! Just over 3 days old
Daddy is so in love with his girls!!
P.S. Because Mommy didn't recognize labour when it happened, Daddy actually got on a plane and went on a business trip. Poor Ahin had to turn around and drive all the way back home from Cleveland, which meant he missed the birth. I was so lucky to have my great friend Anne with me throughout the entire night, even in the OR. Here she is, gowned and masked and ready to go!
And here's me minutes after the birth, wondering what the heck happened, because it all took place so unexpectedly, and so quickly. That expression on my face is just shock :)
